Flash a Personal Hopspot
Choose your device to get started. Flash a signed release from your browser, or follow the setup guide for your board.

Prepare the board
The browser uses the exact entry path for the firmware currently running, then transfers the verified application through Nordic serial DFU. Recovery UF2 remains available below.
- 1Choose whether the tracker currently runs Seeed/Meshtastic firmware or Personal Hopspot. This selects an exact USB entry contract; it does not guess across ambiguous devices.
- 2Prepare the signed release. The application and init packet are downloaded, hash-checked, and validated together in the Rust DFU core before device access.
- 3Connect with a USB data cable and use the requested device picker. Personal Hopspot enters its bootloader through WebUSB; stock firmware and the serial bootloader use Web Serial.
- 4If this browser has not previously been granted the bootloader serial port, use the one bounded Continue step when it appears.
- 5The Rust core owns framing, acknowledgements, waits, progress, and the three-attempt retry limit. Success is reported only after the bootloader accepts the complete transfer.
Review and verify
Waiting- 1Confirm the exact tracker and select the entry path matching its current firmware.
- 2Prepare the release. The signed application and init packet are verified before device access.
- 3Choose the exact USB device and let the browser enter or reconnect to its serial bootloader.
- 4Transfer the application. Rust validates every acknowledgement and bounds each frame to three attempts.
- 5Success is reported only after the bootloader accepts the complete application.
No full-chip erase. Every published byte is signature- and hash-verified before device access.
Confirm the exact tracker and its current firmware before preparing direct Nordic DFU.
Connect your controller
After installing Hopspot, connect this board by USB and authorize your controller to manage it, including its radio settings.
This grants administrator access to that controller. Use its public key; keep its private identity on your controller.
Use desktop Chrome or Edge with Hopspot 0.3.8 or later running on the board. Close other apps using its USB connection first.
Recovery
Restart your T1000-E into recovery mode to reinstall firmware or switch to Meshtastic.
For trackers running Hopspot. Restarting keeps your firmware and settings in place.
Recover with the device button
- Keep the USB end connected to your computer and remove the magnetic connector from the tracker.
- Hold the upper button near the lanyard and reconnect the magnetic connector. Keep holding for at least 6 seconds, until the T1000-E drive appears.
If the drive does not appear, keep holding the button and quickly disconnect and reconnect the magnetic connector. Older firmware may need several attempts. Check for the drive on your computer; a green light alone does not confirm recovery.
Seeed recovery instructionsInstall Meshtastic
Once the T1000-E drive appears, follow Meshtastic’s erase and install guide. Choose the erase utility that matches the SoftDevice version in INFO_UF2.TXT, then install the T1000-E firmware. Erasing removes your device settings.
